Project Background

This project involved a full interior refresh for one of DCW Services’ long-term clients, who has worked with us since the early stages of the business.

The property was ready for a cleaner, fresher finish throughout. Rather than completing small touch-ups, the client wanted the interior properly refreshed with new paint, new carpet, fresh underlay, and carpet added to the garage area.

The goal was to improve the overall presentation and comfort of the property while keeping the work practical, tidy, and well-coordinated.

DCW Services was engaged to manage the refresh from start to finish, covering both the painting and flooring stages so the project could be completed in the right order with a consistent finish.

Our Interior Refresh Process

  • 1. Planning & Assessment

We reviewed the areas needing attention and confirmed the main scope of work with the client.

This included the full interior repaint, carpet and underlay replacement, and the additional request to install carpet in the garage.

  • 2. Interior Preparation

Before painting began, the interior surfaces were prepared so the new finish would look clean and consistent.

This included general preparation of walls, trims, and painted surfaces before repainting.

  • 3. Full Interior Repaint

The interior was repainted throughout to improve the overall look and feel of the property. Fresh paint made the home feel cleaner, brighter, and better maintained.

It also helped bring the different areas of the property together visually, creating a more consistent finish across the interior.

  • 4. Underlay / Carpet Installation

New carpet and underlay helped improve both presentation and comfort.

This stage made a noticeable difference to the feel of the property, especially in areas where the previous flooring had become worn or dated over time.

  • 5. Garage Carpet Installation

At the client’s request, carpet was also installed in the garage. This helped make the garage feel more finished and usable, rather than leaving it as a basic utility space.

For some properties, garage carpet can improve comfort, presentation, and flexibility of use, depending on how the space is being used.

  • 6. Final Check & Handover

Once the painting and flooring works were completed, the property was checked over and prepared for handover.

The final result was a cleaner, fresher, and more comfortable property with updated interior finishes throughout.

Challenges & How We Solved Them

Coordinating Painting and Flooring in the Right Order

With full interior refresh projects, the order of work matters. Painting needs to be completed before new carpet is installed so the flooring is protected and the finish remains clean.

We planned the work in stages, completing the repaint before moving into the carpet and underlay replacement. This helped keep the project organised and avoided unnecessary rework.

Creating a Consistent Finish Throughout the Property

Because the project involved multiple areas of the home, the finish needed to feel consistent rather than pieced together.

By completing the repaint and flooring upgrade as part of one coordinated refresh, the property had a cleaner and more complete result overall.

Adding Carpet to the Garage

The client also requested carpet for the garage area, which needed to be worked into the overall flooring plan.

We included this as part of the project so the garage felt more finished and aligned with how the client wanted to use the space.

Need an Interior Property Refresh?

A property refresh does not always need to mean a full renovation. Sometimes fresh paint, new flooring, and a few practical upgrades are enough to make a property feel cleaner, more comfortable, and better presented.

Whether you are preparing a rental, updating a home, or improving a property over time, we can help plan and complete the work properly.
